It’s not a secret that education is important. And that is why Kstovo has 9 total schools. And one of them, quite unsurprisingly, happens to be my school. It is the 7th lyceum.
To understand the reasoning behind naming it a lyceum, we need to learn a little bit of history. Historically, it was the name of Aristotle’s school in ancient Athens. It was an important place, where scientific discoveries were made and mysteries about the world were uncovered. People spoke about a variety of different topics and openly shared opinions.
These days, with more and more of these mysteries being uncovered, it’s hard to remember them all. That is the reason why all of our governors valued education so much. In 1810, Alexander I created the first Russian school called the Tsarskoselskiy Lyceum. It was a place, where many historical figures have come out of, with the most notable one being Alexander Pushkin, an artistic genius of literature, that made our language what it is today.
Currently, lyceums in Russia are a form of schools where students tend to focus more on Exact Science, more known to us as the beloved subjects of math, physics, IT and more. Teachers here are smarter and teach more difficult material.
And talk about the best — Lyceum Number Seven in Kstovo is the real star. It feels like home of finding out new things, making friends and, of course, having fun.
